The Meliá Las Américas Hotel, located in the world-famous beach resort of Varadero, is seven kilometers from downtown. The establishment has a privileged location by the beach, very close to an 18-hole golf course, the largest in Cuba. The hotel is 35 kilometers from Juan Gualberto Gómez International Airport, and is an excellent place for congress and incentive tourism, weddings and honeymoons.

“Out of this world ”
Where do I start, this hotel was chosen as the location of our belated Honeymoon, we arrived after 3 nights in Havana. Room On arrival we were told we had been upgraded to a junior suite and given special Honeymooners bands, well the room 0110 was on the ground floor but in a really quite area of the property, it was spread over two floors with two bathrooms, we wanted for nothing, there was a fridge with beers soft drinks and water which was refilled everyday without fail. Bars The hotel has so many bars I lost count, the two poshest are situated either side of the lobby, I have been to all inclusive before and expected spirits to be local, "Gin and Tonic please" " Yes sir Gordons,Bombay,Beefeater,Tackeray or Harveys" Wow. These bars stay open 24 hours !!! There is also a bar on the beach, another by the main pool (service amazing thank you Raul and the lovely lady with glasses sorry your name escapes me) and finally a bar in the second pool, we didnt realise this second pool was there until day 3 but it is a jewel, this bar also has a snack bar it is run by Alberto and Chef again may be a snack bar but everything cooked fresh to order, i had the most amazing chicken i have eaten in my life, how did he get the skin so crispy !!! Restaurants There is the standard buffet style but the quality is as high as i have ever experienced on an AI holiday, plenty of very tasty buffet style fare plus a chef cooking steak chicken pork to order another cooking 5 different fish to order another cooking pasta to order both lunch and dinner. Breakfast here was again amazing lots cooked to order juices fresh. Other than the the Buffet restaurant there are another 4 restaurants which you eat in once each during your stay. Italian and Japanese we didnt make (sorry) There fish restaurant by the main pool, amazing service, open air sound of the ocean, 5* food and even better service. This restaurant also serves a 3 course a la carte lunch of equal standard. Finally the international restaurant, Lobster . Steak again cooked to the very highest standard desert flambe , amazing , we eat in this restaurant 3 times and never had a bad mouthful. Entertainment The entertainment staff work tirelessly on the beach during the day, always up to something but never pushy, but always a smile and a hello. The shows in the evening Wow say no more the quality of the dancers brilliant. Location Set amongst the most well kept grounds i have ever seen, on the edge of an amazing white sandy beach with plenty of beds, plenty of shade if required General Manager Bernard is the big boss but he was seen everyday doing the rounds talking to guests and what a memory for names (He knew ours before we told him and he never forgot) Overall I am sorry I cannot praise this Hotel enough and trust me I can moan and complain with best of them, every single member of staff from Bernard down was so customer focused it was scary , I don't think during the 11 nights i ever saw a member of staff without a smile on their face, so yes you could have an equally as nice hotel with an equally as nice beach but you will NEVER EVER get a hotel with the customer service as the Melia Las Americas. I have tried to thing of something negative to say I cannot Thank you Bernard and your team for the most amazing Honeymoon ever (we will be back one day) Family Austin
